But while you could spend an entire vacation soaking up the sun on Sapphire Beach, the area is jam-packed with plenty of seaside activities to enjoy. Sapphire Beach is only one mile away from the town of Red Hook, where there are plenty of things to do to take full advantage of your time on St. Thomas. There are a multitude of boat excursions to go on from fishing excursions to island tours and even reef snorkeling, where you can swim alongside the US Virgin Islands’ famous sea turtles.
The town also features a variety of fantastic restaurants and bars for you to explore, many of which are located right on the water. If you’re looking to island hop, you can take a ferry to St. John right from Red Hook. With only a 40 minute travel time, the ferry is a great opportunity to spend a day seeing even more of the beautiful US Virgin Islands.
